HE'S GOT YOU

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they do not sow or reap or store away in barns yet your HEAVENLY FATHER FEEDS THEM. ARE YOU NOT MUCH MORE VALUABLE THAN THEY?

I came across a Street family sometime back. I looked at the famished child but with a huge grin on his face playing ‘vipekelee’. At first glance of his face without the lower part of his body you wouldn’t have guessed the child was from a street family. He was happy. Genuinely happy playing with his older sibling. Excited at the Rongais' ‘nganyas’ always looking up to say “hii ni yangu,’’ before the older one could make claim of it. A few inches aside was a distressed mother with a ragged leso written “Kama kusemwa ni sumu wengine tume…”. She was clearly thinking about where there next meal would come from... where they will sleep next perhaps and all those children concerned things that make mothers age faster than their actual age(In the spirit of Mothers day, a big shoutout to all mums..You all are the real MVPs). But there and then Matthew 6:27 "And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his span of life?" hit me!

God spoke. “Be like that little boy.”

That little boy was genuinely happy despite his current situation because he knew His mum got him. His mum would find a solution to their problems. His mum would find food. His mum had it all figured out. It was not his job to worry because he was his mother’s child.

Right there, my heart got into rest. My Father has me. Its not my job to worry.
