NEARBY.
JOHN 2:6 Now (nearby) there were 6 stone jars for the Jewish rites of purification....
Let's focus on the first part of that verse. Jesus was in Cana going to perform His first recorded miracle, TURNING WATER INTO WINE. After His mother had approached Him Jesus instructed the servants to use the NEARBY jars, the ORDINARY or Rather the Jars used by The Jews for their purification. Please note that He didn't ask for extraordinary jars or came with Jars to the wedding or asked them to buy other jars. He used the ones that were nearby.
Many a times we ask for blessing but look far for them. Could it be that maybe we at times miss out on out blessings because we have them packaged extraordinarily yet God wants to use the ordinary to make them extraordinary? Could it be that we miss Christ because He is 'hiding in the common'?
Remember, the Jews expected spectacular, they wanted royalty..Jesus came as a baby.
PRAYER.
Heavenly Father, We thank you for the gift of the spirit. Father make us alert today and may we see You in our situation. May we be spirit alert to feel Your glory.
