THE PLACE OF REVELATION AND INFORMATION
For the past one week, God has been teaching me important truths that brought me to the importance of studying the word and its a topic I have talked about severally and I hope this approach will be insightful. One approach was in this devotion.
Now the story of creation is not new to many of us. But I want you to look at this
Gen 2:17 But you must not eat from the tree of knowledge and evil for when you eat from it you shall surely die This was from God to Adam.
Gen 3:3 You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden and you must not touch it or you will die This was from Eve to the serpent.
Notice any difference?
One got the tree in the middle and another got specificity in that it was the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Allow me to submit to you that ADAM GOT REVELATION while EVE GOT INFORMATION. Understand that, Revelation is from God directly while Information is from God Through man. Both have their place in our walk of faith. However, a larger chunk of this generation of young believers has relied more on information. How do I know this? In our Christian circles and fellowships the talk is majorly, ''Passy alisema, Passy wangu was saying..So and so said this..'' and more. Now, if i ask you to share on a sermon shared last year November, it will be hard and if possible you will most likely share the part that touched or excited you. And thats when the parable of the sower comes in where the word is sown but the devil comes and takes it away. However, notice with revelation, it sticks with you. Most times you get so excited, you find yourself wanting to always teach it.
I recently learnt that the devil does not make any mention of the 'three'. There is no mention of the number three but we have constantly grown to the knowledge the wise men were three...but Matthew 2:1 states 'some..'Now if such a small instance has been misinterpreted yet not stated in the Bible, how much more are we missing about what God is saying(exactly) about our situations? The Bible in Hebrew 12 says "Looking unto JESUS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER of our faith..'' Now revelation is got from God directly, THE WORD. Thats why studying the word is VERY important.
