|LETS TALK|: HOMOSEXUALITY #2
Do check out Part 1 of this conversation by clicking the link.
Its a surprise to many people that the Bible has few scriptures on Homosexuality. However, in the few areas of mention, the Bible is very clear and has some important things to say about it. Please note, God in is His grace and mercy is still a Holy and righteous God. GRACE and TRUTH are inseparable(John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, BUT GRACE AND TRUTH came through JESUS). and thus grace should never be an excuse to sin.
The first time we clearly see a direction given on this topic, is in creation. God in His infinite wisdom saw it best to create ADAM AND EVE not ADAM AND STEVE or otherwise for intimacy amongst other reasons,(Genesis 1:27 MALE AND FEMALE He created Them).
But lets go further and see the effects of going against this set order of things. Now further in scripture(Genesis 19) we encounter a town, Sodom and Gomorrah. Two men had entered the town and stayed at Lots house, before the men of the city asked to 'know' them where Lot offered his two daughters instead(vs 5-6). What happens next, is we see the men who were angels declaring judgement on the city for this act amongst other heinous sins like social oppression. (vs13). Jude confirms this in vs 7 ..just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. (Jude 7)
What happened in Sodom is supposed to be a cautionary tale. This is genesis/beginning story how grave sexual sin is.
Tasha, thats only Genesis. Lets look at other portions of scripture.
Lets see how the devil uses sexual sin to destroy a people. (To say the problem is not the people, but the devil, By attacking Homosexuals, you are attacking and fighting the wrong person! This is a spiritual problem that should be approached spiritually. Remember our weapons are not carnal,)
Its clear and without a shadow of doubt, Homosexuality is a sin, a sexual sin.
So what does that mean?

- You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. (Leviticus 18:22)
- If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. (Leviticus 20:13)
- Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
- For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
- And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (Romans 1:26-27)
- We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine(1 Timothy 1:8-10)
- 2 But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband.(1 Cor 7:2)
Its clear and without a shadow of doubt, Homosexuality is a sin, a sexual sin.
So what does that mean?
1. Homosexual sin is serious. Paul says the active and unrepentant homosexual, as with all
active, unrepentant sinners, will not enter God’s kingdom. Paul urges
his readers not to be deceived on this point. He assumes there will be
those who deny this teaching, and argue that some forms of homosexual
conduct are acceptable to God. But Paul is clear: homosexual conduct
leads people to destruction. This is a serious issue.
2. Homosexual sin is not unique.
Paul’s list includes other forms of sexual sin (sexual immorality and
adultery), and it includes non-sexual forms of sin (drunkenness and
theft, for example). Homosexual sin is incredibly serious, but it is not
alone in being so. It is wicked, but so is, say, greed. We must not
imply that homosexual sex is the sin of our age. If we are to
be faithful to Scripture, we must also preach against theft, greed,
drunkenness, reviling, and defrauding others, many of which are also
trivialised in our society, and all of which also characterize the
unrighteous.
3. Homosexual sin is not inescapable.
Paul continues in verse 11: “And such were some of you. But you were
washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God” (1 Corinthians 6:11).
These forms of behaviour are not appropriate for the Corinthian church
precisely because it is not who they are any more. Some of them clearly
had been active homosexuals. They did once live in these ways. But no
more. They have been washed, sanctified and justified; forgiven,
cleansed from their sins, and set apart for God. They have a new
standing and identity before him.
We are living in dangerous times. Where even our movie producers are being used to sell this agenda. 80% of movies today are employing this agenda. Take a series like Empire, with a character like Jamal. So we have Jamal being castigated by the society and other 'woiye woiye' scenes are brought up to arise an empathising emotion in us and soon we start having statements like "Ata Homosexuality si mbaya sana.."I dont dispute, the society at large has taken this fight a bit too far through harsh rebuke, admonishment and even banishing, both parties being in the wrong in this case as we are to correct in love, but that still doesnt nullify the fact that the act is a sin. This being a charge to us as members of the church, to approach this matter in love because its clear in this times, it looks like Homosexuals view Heterosexuals as horrible people who just want to kill them.
Do note, God still loves us, God still loves you. There is nothing that we can do that can separate us from His love. To say, May the love of God bring us back as a generation to repentance, back to His mercy. Its not over yet. A friend of mine told me yesterday when I raised this discussion on my social media platforms, "Tasha you just dont know what will make one decide to be bi, or change their sexuality,.. the hurt.." another one went like, "The heart wants what it wants...You dont choose who you fall in love with..."
Now for the first one, I might not comprehend the pain you went through to decide to change, but I can assure you, God is a master healer of all wounds, hurts and pains, that am sure. Lets not try to heal ourselves.
For the matters of love, 1 John 4:8 GOD IS LOVE, to say Love finds its descriptive nature from God. Whatever is not of God and purports to be Love, THATS NOT LOVE, THATS LUST...DIFFERENTIATE.
There is still hope for this generation, God is calling us back to repentance and its not only on homosexuality but this alongside other behaviours that are against Gods will. He wants to impute His righteousness on us, But you have to DECIDE OR CHOOSE to receive Him.
Remember, THE STANDARDS OF HEAVEN WONT CHANGE BECAUSE A GENERATION IS CHANGING. And, TRUTH IS TRUTH, EVEN IF THE MAJORITY DOESNT AGREE, infact TRUTH IS TRUTH, HOWEVER EMOTIONAL IT MAKES US FEEL.
