UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
1 JOHN 4:7-8 Beloved Let us love one another: for love is of God and he who loves is born of God and KNOWS God. He who does not love does not know God for God is love.
I want to challenge you to think about the many things that you did wrong as a sinner that were not pleasing to God and the many that you still do... You probably didn't do it..but really just think about it.
Now my aim is not to bring it to you how much of a sinner you are or were but just stay with me and watch where am heading with this. Now, with all that mind do you know that God still loves you? Look at this Romans 5:8 'God demonstrates His LOVE for us in that while we were still sinners His son died for US' More proof? 1Corr 5:21 'God made Him that knew not sin to become sin so that inHim we attain the righteousness of God'. What manner of love !
So lately I have been reading I John and am looking at Jesus' bestfriend telling us his final words and what is expected from us. In verse 7 he tells us to Love one another as one of the greatest act as a test of our friendship with God because those who don't love do not know God. And you are probably thinking how well you love your family and you can't remember any enemy you have. You are also thinking how you are a good Christian walking in all the fundamental principles and all those things. But here is a solid fact about this story, John is not talking about reciprocative love. He is not talking about your love for your bestfriend only but loving EVERYONE UNCONDITIONALLY. Now look, this is how you know you know God, You love everyone,...that person who hurt you the most, the person who just cheated you, the person who disappointed you, the person who stole something from you..be it your peace or materially..the list goes on. That you give your selves fully, dedicating your time, your resources your self to the service and love for others. Basically, love that does not need reciprocation. If God still loves us despite all and still says 'Romans 8:39 that nothing can separate you from my love!' Am sure you can strive to love others like He loves you!
So today I'd like you to think...Have you known Jesus to a point where you live and love like Him?
God bless!
