WHAT COMES FIRST?

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS and all these things will be yours as well.

I am sure that many of us are familiar with this verse since it's quoted in most Christian gatherings. I love this mostly quoted verses because they always have a story behind it or before it that at times we may fail to look at it. Matthew 6 is one such chapter. It talks about prayer and in vs25-31, It talks about not being anxious about anything and asks a rhetoric question...How would anxiety help you? (Familiar verse?). Well, the follow up verse says seek FIRST Gods kingdom.
Many times we are so caught up in our daily activities, trying to achieve our goals...to attain that good grade, pass your examinations attain that college degree, get a good job, be succesful, raise a beautiful family...and the list goes on and on. Now the sad part is we forget God in this daily adventures. All these things are good in fact that's what keeps life going. Here is my point, if God comes first, then ALL these things will be added to you. See, God is not a part of your life...HIS PRESENCE IS YOUR LIFE. He doesn't want five minutes of your day in the morning, He wants fellowship with you the whole day. He wants you to tell Him what is not working out for you, what your are happy with, what has made you sad, He wants to know how your day has been, He wants communion with you. I learnt another beautiful thing lately, that you coming to the kingdom of God because of a need, you won't be sustained in the kingdom. This simply means it's communion with your Father...not Your ATM.
So today I urge you...seek ye FIRST the Kingdom of God...then everything else will be added to you.
