KING SAUL

1 Samuel 18:7 As they danced they sang Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands Saul was very angry this refrain displeased him "They have credited David with Ten thousands BUT ME only thousands.."

Today being Flashy Friday, we allow the characteristics of different Bible personalities to flash before our eyes as we take life lessons from them.
When the spirit of the Lord was directing me to study King Saul, I thought ,what much can people learn from such a character. He was much more of a jealous king and there it was, that's our lesson. I know how hard it is to be compared to someone. Think about it, "Why can't you be like...?"
And that's the same struggle Saul was going through. Now most times, it's not people who compare us to someone else but our inner beings. There's is someone called social media who has worsened this comparison madness. You are just chilling minding your own business when you decide to scroll through instagram or a WhatsApp status and then it hits you, everyone seems to have their life together and going. If you cleared school recently, all your friends are going to Ivy league universities, others have started businesses, there someone who has an initiative or foundation going on, this other ones relationship is so perfect you'd mistake it for a telenovela, there is another doing this or that and yea, you come back to you....and well. It happens. I can feel King Sauls pressure from  here. The mighty king was looking at all the ladies singing praise to some small chap, a shepherd. And he felt it.

But as I was reading this scripture, Gods voice was very clear to me. You have your own race. Now, as we said the other day, we all have a gifting in us. And the moment you start concentrating on how others are cultivating their gift. You stagnate. You remain at the same place wallowing at the pity of how they have it all together. While you are there. When majorly the issue is you, you'll start blaming everyone and everything for your stagnation. Quit comparing yourself with others. There is nothing that screams louder than the phrase BUT ME.
There is grace for your race. Stick to your lane!

God bless!
