BREAK
Matt 14:13 And when Jesus heard of death, he withdrew to a lonely place alone.
Let me put this into context. Jesus' cousin, John had just been beheaded and He had heard about his betrayal. Jesus the Lord and savior withdrew to a lonely place. Remember Lazarus' death he also wept.
Now, when this year began, one of my resolutions was to grow and be more like Jesus. So I started pinpointing some of the characteristics I would like to cultivate in me...say be more merciful, loving etc etc. All those characters that can attribute to our good Lord and Savior. But there are some things we forget. See, Jesus actually WEPT! He actually broke down when he was remorseful.
Let's look at our lives. We like to create a fascade of neatness and an 'Oh highly here thee blessed of the Lord..'look even when we are really broken, crushed and in pain. We don't want to acknowledge we are going through pain. The problem is even greater with the presence of social media. Children of God are out there presenting clean linen...while inside they are broken. It's not wrong to do this but the problem with this generation is we are keeping all these things inside, not seeking help, not even talking to our Father...then ending up seeking consolation from all the wrong places and moving farther and farther away from God. Acting tough won't let it go away. Here's another secret...God knows you but He won't fix what you fake.
Today I bring you a message of challenge. Allow yourself to break. Quoting Bishop Allan Kiuna,'Don't ever underestimate the power of crying...'. Let your heart out to God and your spiritual parent of friend. Cry out. Solve these issues. It's easier to run when you are lighter. Let go and God!
God bless!
