HILLS AND VALLEYS
I sat down and wrote my curriculum vitae, not because I was applying for some job somewhere.. ah ah, besides I don't apply for jobs; am at that point in my life where jobs follow me. Great huh? So part of my achievements so far are a few degrees here..am currently undertaking my masters by the way. I also am a talented child. Very talented friends. I sing, I dance, I draw, I am a photographer, I write basically anything and few more stuff here and there. See, such a masterpiece of Gods design needs not to look for jobs. Have I mentioned am also a Christian? So I write devotions once in a while. The other day I tried to sketch a song for my good friend Millicent to present because she also has such an amaizing voice and I think she will be the next big thing in the music industry.
As I wrote all that, I was seated in my crib where all these marvelous talents are brought to life drinking cola and listening to my all time favorite singer, Taurren Wells Hills and Valleys(which is also the title of my fabrication today). I bet most of you have heard it..and if you have not you should rush there. Anyway, this song is so deep.. I had to stop and really meditate on what it was saying.
I listened to Tauren and could so relate on what he was saying. I mean I was there bragging on a piece of paper all the achievements I have been able to garner in my few years on planet Milky Way and really had forgotten who had got me there. Not to say I have not had my lowest points in life. Trust me if it's the valley...I have hit it rock bottom, and like any normal firebrigade christian that's when I sort God deeply.
And thats where the problem comes in with most of us believers. When we are at the top of our mountains, the successes of life, the high peaks of everything we are doing we forget who got us there and brag consciously or subconsciously in our own strength. We forget who walked with us and raised us to that point.
Today I'd like to pose a challenge to you. Think about all the great things that have happened to you. In fact write them down. Be grateful for them. One by one. One thing I have learned so far thanks to the gratitude challenge presented to me by another good friend of mine called Josephine(you guys should visit her webpage for great pieces of writing..teenagegirlme.wordpress.com) is that it is in GRATITUDE THAT YOU SEE THE GREATNESS OF GOD. Therefore at high moments, bow low and remember who saw you there and thank Him..in low times, still choose to praise Him even more.
Here is a line from the song...
🎶When am standing on the mountain I didn't get there on my own
When Iam walking in the valley I know am not Alone...
**********
Father you give and take away
Every joy and every pain
Through it all You will remain Over it all.
God bless!
