A LESSON FROM THE TOILET
The beauty about the toilet(Notice how I forgot to use fancy
nouns like washroom, restroom, bathroom etc) is that it equalizes everyone. At
some point in your natural life you will visit this very important room for
some urgent business.
Notice how the smell of the 'bulk mail' you're busy
downloading doesn't bother you one bit when you are engaged on high gear. For
some of us, the facial expressions are priceless and we would give Mr. Bean a
run for his money as you relieve yourself. As long as you are sitting on the
throne doing your natural stuff, you and the stench are from one kindred, you
don't mind it one bit, you get along very well, you were meant to be.
An unforgiving pungent stench will welcome the next person
who dares to venture into that important room immediately after you have
'signed out'. If the urge to go hasn't reached fever pitch, then they will
gladly postpone their intentions to give the room enough time to cool down,
because we just can't bare someone else's pong!
...but if your alimentary canal went on a 'blind date' with
the wrong food, then you will gladly postpone your nausea and all other issues
you have against bad smell because the urgency of the situation doesn't call
for your definition of preference and decency...You need to go NOWWW! ...and
boy, the smell thereof will be epic.
The same is true, when it comes to the issues of our lives
and even our relationships. The stench of your own mess doesn't stink as much when
you it's coming from you. It's only until someone else (who thinks he is is
better than you) tries to get in and your mess terrifies him...because in his
mind, he is thinking, "Oh, how can one person ooze with a lot of
madness"...What he doesn't know is that, that madness will soon have a
date with him and when it comes, it will reek with vengeance.
The grace of God will teach you some tolerance, some
patience and some level of accommodation even if the situation a classic
effluvium. When you have been with the Lord and He has exposed you to the
smelling portions of your life then you can become more accepting towards your friends, family or even situations, because all we like sheep have gone astray.
In this month of February, we will fake all sorts or
perfumes to take care of the malodorous issues in our lives so that we can
'smell better and in turn SMELL BETTER'. Just remember that all your efforts
are plastic because perfume has a lifespan. Unless you are willing to take care
of the root of the smell that you will continue reeking and pretending...
