BOUNCE BACK
1 Corr 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
I love basketball. I have always loved basketball. Yes, I am a short being who loves basketball. I don't play it professionally though, but I had a short stint at it while in high school. It was more of a 'punching bag' relationship. It was sore at first, but I slowly got the hang of it and we became a thing. In my short spree at the court, one major lesson I learnt was that the ball will and can only bounce back from a hard ground. It wouldn't bounce on mud or on grass. Only on hard surface!
And I recently thought, could it be that life functions the same way? That our hard situations are mostly setholds for us to bounce back? Could it be that what you are going through is preparing you for a bounce back at life? That at the low point, you are actually drawing lessons to sustain you at your highs? That when Paul says he rejoices in his weakness because when he is weak then he is strong for Christ's strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corr 12:9-11), he has come to a point of rest in Gods strength.
Today's verse reminds us that there is nothing sent to us that we cant overcame. May Job's faith and strength be availed to you today. May we grow strong to trust the Lord in whatever.
God bless!
