WHY DO CHRISTIANS SUFFER?
John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be courageous[be confident. be undaunted]; I have OVERCOME the world...(amplified version)
There has been a meme going round that is saying "God is not tasting your faith, you are suffering..." I had so many things to say about this meme but I decided to retract first and seek the wisdom of God.Now someone would tell me, "its only a meme...don't be too serious about it" But you wouldn't get the magnitude of that statement unless you are on the receiving end and then its no longer 'just a meme'
A friend of mine asked me yesterday,''why do Christians suffer...?'' Its a relative to the question, "why do bad things happen to good people?'' The first question is something many believers am certain have asked at one point in life until you come to this greater revelation. Now I found that question really timely as I had just gotten home from a fellowship where the preacher shared about it.
Let me help you understand it. We are called into a promise of overcoming the world, from the basis of knowing Jesus FIRST OVERCAME the world. Now, its important to note that there can be NO OVERCOMING IF THERE IS NOTHING TO OVERCOME. In fact John 16:33 tells us, we will have trouble. Jesus has foreseen there will be tribulations in our walk. Understand that the nature you carry, provokes something in the world. John 10:10 says the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, a thief never asks for permission to invade; he will come! In fact, James 1:2 tells us to consider it all joy when we fall into trials. Its a call to see that the nature and life we carry in us is above death.
Then if God has promised us victory, because its already done, are you ready to walk in it? Watch that God doesnt reveal His nature and Himself to us to excite us but so that we can walk it out! So count it all joy, the devil tries to fight destiny. But you are walking in prepared and a done deal victory! Walk in it!
God bless!
