THE COLD SHOWER ANALOGY BY MARC JORDAN

Most times we take cold showers when there's no power. We get into the shower and the heater would not heat up the water. We have to take this kind of shower because we have to take a shower of some kind and at that moment, there is no other option that is available to us. I'm sure by now you're wondering where this bathroom talk is headed. Let me bring you into my perspective.

As Christians, we tend to sin (take cold showers) when there is no power in us (the Holy Spirit). Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would lead us into all truth so when tempted, if we do not have the Holy Spirit(power), we will definitely fall into sin.
Now that I think we are together, let me take you back to the bathroom set up.

When we get into the cold shower, it is at first inconvenient, uncomfortable, unpleasant for us- until we get used to the water. The water starts to spark up a sensation on our skins that makes us enjoy the cold water.

When we fall away from power, we sin. At first it is uncomfortable, unpleasant for us. But as time goes by, we enjoy the sin. We feel attached to it that we don't want it taken away from us. Life starts to revolve around this sin. It becomes comfortable, soothing, appealing to sin- and the more we sin, the more we trivialize the sin. It becomes small in our eyes.
GOOD NEWS. When we confess of the sin GOD is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So we get back the power. We get back to living under the direction and guidance of the Holy Ghost. And how we enjoy hot baths after the cold showers.


(Numbers 20:28)Aaron died when the priestly garment was removed from him and placed on Eleazar. Its the annointing that was in him that gave him coverage. Lets not get comfortable in sin in church.
Sin is sin whether everyone is doing it or not. If its wrong, its wrong. And the Bible tells us the wages of sin is death. Refuse to be comfortable in sin.
