GOSPEL SCENE..DEAD?
2 Timothy 2:15 Do yourself best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
The past one week has been an interesting or sad or however you would put it to counter a normal one in the gospel scenery in Kenya. Scandals emerging from our men of cloth and ministers and its a whole roller coaster now with gospel artists trying to help their brothers and try bring some serenity into the whole situation.
At first I had so much to say(of course I always have something to say, I write) but lately, I have been sharing with my friends, viewing whatsapp statuses, following twitter trends on the topic and one thing is coming up, young people are loosing hope in Christianity, "Sasa kama ma gospel artists ndio wanarape, hii Christianity ni nini? MaPassy wako kwa sex scandals...tunafanya nini gospel?"
Now am not here to say who is right or wrong, or defend whoever, we all have the right to believe whoever or whatever we want, its one of the greatest gifts we were given, decision making. But lets talk!
The Bible tells us to work out OUR SALVATION(Phil 2:12) even as we do our best to present OURSELVES TO GOD as approved workmanship. I need us to see, its not about him or her or the gospel artistes or the gospel industry or your church, its about you. Ever heard the phrase, salvation is personal? Some fundamental characteristics of the new covenant was God will be a personal God, Laws will be written in the hearts of the people, Corporate punishment ended with the old covenant.
Its not about the industry and therefore before we hurdle to throw stones in mob justice choreography because its always easy to shout thief till its you with your hand in the cookie jar, lets sit down and work out our salvation. How is your relationship with the God you serve?
Is there hope for this generation? What do you mean hope...
All Christians and members of the gospel industry have stood in the dock guilty because of two or three boys who have been side selected to represent a whole generation. We choose what to concentrate on. Do we have people to look upto in the lane of our growth in faith? Jesus is the epitome!
I dont dispute, there is a hole somewhere. But the Bible prepared us. In the last days, false prophets will arise in His name. Now if you were shocked with this stunt, brace yourself for more or worse.
But what will be my charge, what are you doing in your personal growth? Are you seeking to know this God personally? Not as the God of so and so, but as your God?
God bless!
This is a safe space, Id love to hear from you.

We chose our God and so we must press on in that same pursuit, not because of those before us but because of what awaits us🤗

I've learnt over time to expect anything from anyone, good or bad. And to focus on the good of people, coz if I focused on the bad I'd probably get overwhelmed. And God is the only constant, everything else can rise and fall at the speed of light.
ReplyDeleteGod is the only constant. Wow thats deep!
DeleteI love....*Salvation is Personal*.
ReplyDeleteJust like Jesus said let Him who has no sin be the first one to cast out a stone...........
John 8:7

Just to add ...may our salvation be based on Knowing God personally but not from a point of familiarity ...yes Salvation is personal and God has Graced us to work that very salvation in our lives ... Asantii Tasha♥🌸
ReplyDeleteNot from a point of familiarity...and we are graced..thats deep!

I personally can say that' it's very very important for a Christian to resist any evil now because what the devil does at times is he uses our past mistakes to try sabotage our transition into our next level but God remains Faithful 🔥 and we have to experience the good of the land
ReplyDeleteVery true..there is a level of elevation God is bringing us to and the devil is working overtime to distort this, but we are graced. Hallelujah!
Deletefleeing from the devil,,,,!
This is deep...

Presenting ourselves to GOD is so vital because He above will never change the love for us, He remains constant no matter the course and situation. TASHA🌼 love this

DeleteHe is a constant!

I really like this.... Many are the times we are told that we relate with God having in mind where He picked us from..... Relating with Him according yo our pastors'way may be misleading.... We all have to take religion as a personal initiative.... Thanks so much Tasha💖
ReplyDeleteVery true,

The world should read this, Highly enlightening words. If we be transformed and renewed by the Spirit, the outward will speak for itself. I love how the blog ends by reminding us that we are living in the last days. Thanks
